This is the first collaboration between myself and Paul of Larrysson Pipes. We both decided on the design and made it in both his and my own workshop over two days. The result is beautiful straight Brandy/Volcano in Paul's light Yew stain with a blue/green cumberland stem. Those of you who know his work will see influence on this pipe. It was a real pleasure working with him on this project and you can expect to see more in the future.

I took inspiration for this shape from a Goose egg. I used one of my finest crosscut blocks and was rewarded with stunning birdseye on the sides. The only flaw is a small and nearly invisible sandpit on the bottom of the bowl. The stem is my fishtail style and made of beautiful creamy cow horn. All in all a lovely pipe.

I realised that I hadn't made an olive wood pipe in a long time yet I had some beautiful wood waiting to be used. This lovely little nosewarmer is the result. Nice chunky proportions, thick walls, a good sized chamber and a white stem to set off the pale beautifully patterned wood.

A really lovely chubby Canted Rhodesian just bordering on nosewarmer proportions. A great mixture of grain and it was pretty clean with just a few spots that are all but invisible under the rich mahogany contrast stain. A simple glossy black acrylic stem gives it understated elegance.

This is my first foray into bamboo. It was certainly a new experience and a big learning curve. However for a first attempt I'm pretty pleased. The bowl is a natural finish with stunning grain, loads of birdseye, and just one small black spot (see first pic). Stem is acrylic.

A danish style egg/belge finished with a process used on gunstocks to subtly bring out the beauty of the grain without colouring the wood too much. Lovely grain it is too, great areas of straight and very tight birdseye. Green cumberland and briar stem (there was a small bubble in the cumberland which has caused a bit of a ripple, price has been lowered accordingly)

A really special pencil shanked Danish egg/belge. Flaw free mixed grain of birdseye and flame, brough out with a mahogany contrast stain. And a really interesting fishtail stem made from cumberland. All combine to make a really stunning pipe.

This pipe is a bit of an experiment both in staining and embelishment. the bowl has a ring made of fine powered metal and resin that creates a bronze/gold band. And the stain is meant to be a coppery colour. Both have come out pretty well though there are a few bubbles in the resin which is a shame.
Excellent long shank however with a beautful grey cumberland fishtail stem, and some lovely grain with just minor sand spots. Price is adjusted to take into account the flaws

A wonderful little stacked nosewarmer (or eyebrow warmer!). Rim features a small bit of the plateau left on and the wood is almost falw free. Nice areas of straight, flame and birdseye grain, finished with my yellow/orange contrast stain. The stem is handcut from brown/green swirl cumberland. You will certainly get a long smoke from this one!

I've always liked elegant pencil shanked pipes, so here is my first attempt at making one and I'm very pleased. Very slim slightly tapered shank with a handcut cumberland stem. The bowl has nice a nice combination of straight and flame grain, with good birdseye on the shank. Just one small flaw I can see on the bowl but with the mahogany contrast stain you will be hard pressed to find it.
Wonderfully light at just 22g

First new pipe on the site in a while as I have been busy with commisions. I have been wanting to make a churchwarden for a while so here it is, a rusticated Chanterelle. Delicate golfball rustication in glossy black with a super shiny ebonite stem and perfect stem-shank junction despite it being pencil thin. The only downside is the draw is slightly tighter than I would have liked due to the length I suspect however it will still be a an easy smoke.

Not sure what to call this shape yet so for now it's just a freehand. This pipe show exceptional grain that as far as my eyes can see is 100% flaw free! One side has perfect tight straight grain, the other, beautiful flame grain, the bottom has a nice patch of birdseye and the top is nice tight wavy plateau. A dark brown contrast stain and simple black stem really show this wood at its best. In my opinion this has got to be probably the nicest pipe I have made so far.
